TheCentre for Livelihood Alternatives and Promotion Foundation (CLAP Foundation),a national level organization working towards agri-based livelihood promotion, conducted a training program on“Scientific Vegetables Farming”on 05thJanuary 2026at the ChottakholaCommunity Hall, Belonia Sub Division, South Tripura.The program aimed at strengthening farmers’ capacities through the adoption ofGood Agricultural Practices (GAP), promotion of sustainable farming methods, local-level value addition, and exploration of alternative market linkages for better price realisation.These initiatives are part of CLAP Foundation’s continued efforts to enhance farm productivity and improve farmers’ incomes.A total of 60 farmers from Belonia Sub Division participated in the training. The participants primarily cultivate paddy, turmeric, pineapple, orange, banana, and seasonal vegetables. The training concluded with an action plan for farmers to implement the newly acquired scientific practices in their respective fields.The session was facilitated by experienced resource persons, Mr. Khokan Roy, Retired Deputy Director, Horticulture, Government of Tripura and Mr. Bijan Chowdhury, Retired Deputy Director, Agriculture Department, Government of Tripura, who shared practical insights and field-based knowledge.This training is expected to benefit farmers and EPFCs by improving productivity, enhancing market access, and ensuring better price realisation, while also contributing towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
